Our Story

Our Story

HoloRay arose from collaboration between medical and engineering experts at McGill University, united by the mission to improve patient care and support the daily work of surgeons and clinicians. The mission began as a bridge between fragmented high-end surgical technology and the real-world constraints of hospitals and training programs. Our core vision was to create a connected ecosystem for remote healthcare, education, and simulation, an approach we originally conceived as “MR for care delivery.”We aim to reduce infrastructure and cost barriers, and eliminate fragmentation so hospitals and educators can deploy advanced technology without significant investment. Our design philosophy is simple: intuitive integration, clinical-grade reliability, and a human-centric user experience.

Our Story

Successful animal and user studies demonstrated real-time collaboration between remote experts and operating teams. We validated our platform through a study showing it could be used to effectively guide a novice with no surgical experience through a chest tube insertion procedure. This success told us our platform could redefine how procedures are taught, guided, and supported in real-world settings.At HoloRay, we believe that the next evolution of healthcare is not about automation, but augmentation.By bringing expertise to the point of care, HoloRay augments human skill, ensuring knowledge, not geography, defines patient outcomes.
